Diplomats from Israel and Iran maintain operations inside the same United Nations buildings despite ongoing tensions between their countries. According to Israel’s International Spokesperson, the two sides have virtually no interaction while carrying out their work in the same halls.
CBS News spoke with members of both delegations about the experience of conducting diplomacy inside an institution designed to promote global cooperation.
The discussions focused on how representatives navigate their roles as conflict between the two countries continues outside the building. The Iranian mission declined to comment on the Israeli delegation’s characterization of the situation.
