The Israeli military said it intercepted two projectiles fired from Lebanon into northern Israel this morning. No injuries were reported from the incident. Israeli officials stated that ground forces would continue advancing toward the Zahrani River in southern Lebanon. The advance marks the deepest incursion into the country in 25 years.

Reported understandings A statement indicated that Hezbollah, through intermediaries, had pledged not to attack Israel. In exchange, Israeli forces would refrain from strikes on Beirut and its suburbs. Lebanon’s embassy in Washington said the arrangement would not end the conflict but would limit certain strikes.

Hezbollah lawmaker Hassan Fadlallah said the group would support a full ceasefire across Lebanon as a step toward Israeli withdrawal.

Regional reactions Iran’s Revolutionary Guards warned of opening new fronts and keeping the Strait of Hormuz closed, according to state media. Iran’s foreign minister stated that any violation on one front would count as a violation on all fronts. U.S. forces intercepted two Iranian ballistic missiles targeting American personnel in Kuwait late Sunday, the U.S. military said.

No personnel were harmed. Lebanon said it would seek to expand the ceasefire in talks with Israel in Washington tomorrow. Oil prices rose more than 5 percent and equities declined amid the developments.
