Israeli ministers reject terms of upcoming U.S.-Iran ceasefire covering Lebanon
Several Israeli ministers said a planned U.S.-Iran ceasefire does not bind Israel and called for full dismantling of Hezbollah. The statements come ahead of the agreement's expected finalization.

"We are not partners to this agreement that does not ensure our security, and it does not bind us in any way," he said. The ministers also called for complete removal of Hezbollah forces rather than any compromise on the group's presence.
Background on the planned agreement The ceasefire is being negotiated between the United States and Iran and is expected to address multiple regional issues, including Lebanon. Israeli officials have maintained that any agreement reached without their participation does not limit their actions.
"We must not compromise on any less than the dismantling of Hezbollah," Ben-Gvir added during a Knesset committee meeting on June 8, 2026.
