Israeli naval forces intercepted multiple vessels from the Global Sumud Flotilla in international waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The navy detained around 100 activists who were aboard the boats. Communications on several vessels were jammed at the start of the operation, according to a member of the flotilla’s legal team.

Bader al-Noaimi said the flotilla remained within the Cypriot search and rescue zone and had issued distress calls that received no response. Al-Noaimi stated the group feared a repeat of an earlier interception in late April, when passengers were transferred to a prison ship and later handed over to Greek authorities.

Ministry reported that six Palestinians were killed and 40 wounded in Israeli attacks during the past 24 hours. Rescue crews were unable to reach some victims still under rubble or on roads. The ministry said 877 people have been killed and 2,602 wounded since the start of the ceasefire in October.
