He wrote on social media that the attack on Beirut should not have happened. Iran’s parliament speaker said Sunday there was no point in continuing peace talks with the United States.

Around 1 million Lebanese have been displaced. Israel says 24 of its soldiers and four civilians have been killed. A naval blockade remains in place.
