Italy Industrial Production Falls 0.3 Percent Month on Month but Rises 1.1 Percent Year on Year in May

Italy's industrial production fell 0.3 percent month on month in May, @LiveSquawk reported. The decline exceeded the consensus estimate of a 0.2 percent drop and reversed a 0.5 percent increase recorded in the previous period. On a working-day-adjusted year-on-year basis, production rose 1.1 percent.

That result trailed the 1.3 percent consensus forecast and matched the prior period's 1.3 percent gain. The non-seasonally-adjusted year-on-year measure contracted 1.9 percent after a 5.0 percent expansion in the preceding period.
