A.J. Brown Says He Used Media Stories as Motivational Tactic With Eagles Before Trade to Patriots

J. Brown said he fed certain stories to the media while playing for the Eagles in order to motivate the team. He made the admission during an appearance on “7PM in Brooklyn” this week. Brown stated the tactic was intentional.

“It was done purposely to give us a push,” he said. ” He added that he viewed the resulting pressure as useful. “Because pressure isn’t always a bad thing, it can be a good thing. Honestly, I felt like it was OK to do,” Brown said.

Brown was traded to the New England Patriots on Monday in exchange for first- and fifth-round draft picks. He participated in the team’s organized team activities on June 2, 2026, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. Brown played four seasons with the Eagles, a period that included a Super Bowl victory and two seasons that ended short of expectations.

His relationship with quarterback Jalen Hurts was a frequent subject of media discussion during that time.
