Las Vegas Aces center A'ja Wilson became the fastest player in league history to reach the milestone during a 101-91 win over the Seattle Storm on June 8, 2026.
espn.comLas Vegas Aces center A'ja Wilson reached 6,000 career points in her 278th WNBA game on June 8, 2026. She finished with 34 points, 12 rebounds, 9 assists and 3 blocks in the Aces' 101-91 victory over the Seattle Storm.
Wilson passed the mark faster than any other player in WNBA history. Diana Taurasi reached 6,000 points in 291 games before retiring after the 2024 season. Breanna Stewart needed 293 games to reach the same total and now has 6,231 points in her 10th season.
Wilson was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft. Taurasi was the top selection in 2004, and Stewart was the top pick in 2016. All three players reached the milestone while playing for teams that drafted them first overall.
The Aces improved to an 8-3 record with the win and extended their winning streak to four games. Wilson, 29, is in her ninth season with the franchise. "I'm just grateful to be able to do what I do with the people I love," Wilson said.
"I've seen so many different defenses, different schemes. Yet we still show up every single day, ready to work and ready to be great. " Aces coach Becky Hammon, who has led the team since the 2022 season, described how Wilson's game has expanded.
"When I first got here, she's just kind of this low post [presence], maybe elbow player now and then," Hammon said. "The game is really slowed down for her. There's just really not any offensive area that she can't do.
She can put the ball on the floor, get to her [midrange], put her back to the basket, step out and shoot 3s, shoot free throws. " Diana Taurasi remains the WNBA's all-time leading scorer with 10,646 points.
