Jaden Schwartz signed a three-year contract worth $3.25 million annually with the Colorado Avalanche, ESPN reported on Wednesday. The 34-year-old winger won the Stanley Cup with the St. Louis Blues in 2019.
He played college hockey at Colorado College and joined the Avalanche after his time with the Seattle Kraken ended. Schwartz became one of the Kraken's original players after the 2020-21 season and spent five seasons there as an alternate captain. Last season he recorded 11 goals and 26 points in 50 games while averaging 16:08 of ice time per game.
The signing adds a veteran forward with playoff experience to the Avalanche roster following recent trades that moved Ross Colton and Valeri Nichushkin.
