Jaguars' Travis Hunter Continues Two-Way Role in 2026 Offseason Workouts
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter participated in organized team activities this week while recovering from knee surgery. Team officials have stated he will start on defense and also see offensive snaps during the 2026 season.
espn.comJacksonville Jaguars cornerback and wide receiver Travis Hunter took part in the team's first organized team activity of the offseason on Tuesday. Hunter spent the two-hour session with the offense, joining huddles and lining up in position without a helmet or full contact drills. He also held a radio on the sideline to listen to play calls.
Hunter tore the lateral collateral ligament in his right knee during an Oct. 30, 2025, practice and underwent surgery on Nov. 11. He began limited participation in the offseason program after completing rehabilitation. The Jaguars expanded their virtual walk-through room this offseason.
Hunter said he uses the room two to three times a day for 15 to 30 minutes at a time to study defensive alignments and assignments.
General manager James Gladstone stated in January that Hunter is needed primarily at cornerback but will also play on offense. Head coach Liam Coen has repeated the same plan in recent interviews. After Tuesday's workout, Coen said the virtual room allows Hunter to accumulate defensive reps he cannot yet take on the field.
Hunter said criticism of his two-way role has followed him throughout his career and has not affected him. "It didn't bother me," Hunter said Wednesday. " Hunter made the comments during an appearance at a Jacksonville Planet Fitness promoting the gym's High School Summer Pass program.
