Jake Reiner Returns to Dodgers Podcast Five Months After Parents' Murder

Jake Reiner returned to co-host The Incline: Dodgers Podcast on May 7, 2026. " Reiner said he had been thinking about returning to the podcast for a really long time. He published an essay about his parents last month before stepping back into the hosting chair, explaining that he wanted to put his words out there and let people in as to the kind of people that his parents were at home.

The eldest son said he hoped to connect with people that are going through their own kind of grief. "I know that not everybody's grief is the same, and even though everyone's grief is unique to them, I'm sure that there are aspects of everyone's grief that we can all connect with," he said. Reiner called the Los Angeles Dodgers his first love.

"It's something that I've always connected with with my dad, first and foremost, and it's something that I will continue to connect with him for the rest of my life," he stated on the podcast. Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner were found stabbed to death in their home in Brentwood, California, on December 14, 2025.

Rob Reiner was 78 years old at the time of his death and Michele Singer Reiner was 70.

The couple had been married from 1989 until their deaths. They shared three children: Jake, Nick and Romy. Rob Reiner also had an adopted daughter Tracy from his first marriage to Penny Marshall. The night before their deaths, Nick Reiner got into an argument with Rob Reiner at a holiday party and was seen acting strangely.

Nick Reiner had been living on his parents' property. Nick Reiner was taken into custody hours after his parents' bodies were discovered. He is 32 years old. His sister Romy Reiner is 28. Nick Reiner pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder with the special circumstance allegation of multiple murders and a special allegation that he used a deadly weapon, a knife.

He also pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder. A preliminary hearing in the murder case is scheduled for September 15. Years ago, Nick Reiner was diagnosed with schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder, and his medication had been adjusted or changed sometime prior to his parents' deaths.
