Ltd. completed a technical demonstration of a Starlink-supported Wi-Fi network on Thursday near its Kanagawa Branch in the vicinity of Kanagawa province near Tokyo, @SawyerMerritt reported. Each installation placed a Starlink antenna on a pole beside the traditional circular fire hydrant signage.
Japan maintains 120,000 fire hydrant signs nationwide. The signs are largely maintained by private companies that earn revenue from advertising space on them. The company stated it will consider collaboration with local governments, regional companies, and related organizations to roll out the initiative.
It clarified that the trial was a technical demonstration and that Starlink was not an official partner or collaborator.
