Jasveen Sangha, 42, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison on Wednesday in a California court for her role in supplying ketamine that led to the death of actor Matthew Perry. Perry, known for his role in the television series Friends, died on October 28, 2023, at age 54. He was found unresponsive in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home.

-British citizen, pleaded guilty to charges including distribution of ketamine resulting in death and engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise. She had been in federal custody since August 2024. Prosecutors described her as a key supplier in a network that provided drugs to Perry.

Perry had publicly struggled with addiction for decades, including substance abuse issues that affected his career and personal life.

In the months before his death, he appeared to colleagues to be overcoming his challenges. However, an investigation revealed he was receiving ketamine from multiple sources at inflated prices. Sangha supplied 51 vials of ketamine to Perry's live-in personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, through a middleman named Erik Fleming.

Iwamasa administered at least three injections of the drug to Perry on the day of his death. The autopsy determined that acute effects of ketamine caused Perry's drowning in the hot tub.

doctors were also charged in connection with Perry's death.

Dr. Salvador Plasencia admitted to four counts of distributing ketamine and was sentenced to 30 months in prison last year. Dr. Mark Chavez received home confinement and 400 hours of community service.

Plasencia obtained ketamine from Chavez and resold it to Perry at prices exceeding $2,000 per vial, while paying a fraction of that amount. Text messages from Plasencia included statements questioning how much Perry would pay.

I wonder how much this moron will pay.

Perry's death, news reports prompted Sangha to instruct Fleming to delete their messages in an effort to conceal their dealings. Federal investigators raided Sangha's North Hollywood home, where they discovered methamphetamine, ketamine, ecstasy, cocaine, and counterfeit Xanax pills.

The search also uncovered a money counting machine, a scale, and devices for detecting wireless signals and hidden cameras. Sangha was one of five individuals charged in the case, which exposed a ring of suppliers and enablers profiting from Perry's addiction.

The investigation began immediately after Perry's death and led to guilty pleas from several participants. Perry's death prompted widespread public mourning among fans of Friends, which aired from 1994 to 2004.
