Jayson Tatum posted a message on his Instagram story after Jaylen Brown was traded from the Boston Celtics to the Philadelphia 76ers. The post came days after the trade was completed. Tatum wrote that the two had spent nine years together and expressed gratitude for what they accomplished.
"From first-round exits to winning a chip together, I'm thankful for it all," Tatum stated. He added that he had "nothing but love and respect" for Brown as a player and person.
Trade details The Celtics agreed to send Brown to the 76ers in exchange for Paul George, two first-round picks and two second-round picks, according to ESPN. Brown addressed the trade during a live Twitch stream. He said he was "not thrilled with the amount of respect that was showed during this process" and noted there was "a bit of a lack of respect."
Brown had played together since 2017.
The pair reached the conference finals five times, appeared in the NBA Finals twice and won a championship in 2024. Tatum missed most of the 2025-26 season after rupturing his Achilles tendon. The Celtics lost in the first round to the 76ers during his return. Brown will now join Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and V.J. Edgecombe on the 76ers roster.
