JD Sports plans to close 175 Hibbett Sports stores across the United States over the next three years. The parent company said the closures target underperforming locations as part of a broader effort to optimize its North American store footprint. 1 billion.

Schultz added that the company will “close around 170 underperforming EBIT stores over the next three years” in North America. CFO Dominic Platt said the retailer will open about 20 new JD stores in North America and convert between 70 and 80 Finish Line stores to JD locations.

After accounting for planned changes in Europe, the group expects its overall store count to “stay broadly flat for the year,” Platt said.
