The Jeep Avenger receives a refresh for the 2026 model year that adds updated styling, additional technology and an 85th Anniversary special edition. UK orders are scheduled to open in late summer, with prices and full specification details to be confirmed closer to launch.

The fully electric version continues with a 54 kWh battery, a 154 bhp electric motor and a manufacturer-stated range of up to 248 miles. It supports charging at up to 100 kW on rapid chargers and 11 kW on AC chargers. The model was named European Car of the Year in 2023 and has become the brand's best-selling vehicle in Europe.

More than 270,000 units have been sold since launch, with electrified versions accounting for 60 per cent of sales. The vehicle has attracted a higher proportion of female buyers and drivers under 40 than the brand average.

The most noticeable exterior change is LED backlighting for the seven-slot grille on higher trim levels, intended to improve nighttime recognition. New front and rear bumpers, fresh 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheel designs and wheel centre caps featuring a stylised image of the original Willys Jeep have been added.

Two new exterior colours, Forest and Bamboo, join the existing palette, and a black roof option is now available. Inside the cabin, door panels use softer materials and the lower dashboard incorporates a padded insert. The Selec-Terrain drive mode selector now features a red, rubber-coated surround.

Ground clearance remains up to 210 mm, with approach, breakover and departure angles of up to 22, 21 and 35 degrees respectively.

The updated model gains matrix LED headlights that automatically adapt the beam according to speed and surrounding traffic. A new front camera enables a 360-degree view on the central touchscreen to assist with parking and tight manoeuvres. Selec-Terrain and Hill Descent Control are fitted as standard across the range, including front-wheel-drive versions.

The broader line-up includes e-Hybrid, petrol and 4xe variants, though only the fully electric version has a plug-in charging port. The 4xe combines a petrol engine at the front with an electric motor at the rear to provide all-wheel drive but is not a plug-in hybrid.

Standard equipment includes full-LED headlights, automatic high beam, keyless start, cruise control, automatic air conditioning and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Over-the-air software updates are supported, and the Jeep app allows owners of electric versions to monitor battery level, schedule charging, precondition the cabin, locate the vehicle and lock or unlock the doors remotely.

Boot space is rated at up to 380 litres with a 1-metre-wide tailgate opening and a reversible, washable cargo floor. Interior storage totals up to 34 litres. The 85th Anniversary special edition includes gold-finish bumpers and wheels, anniversary logos, a tartan bonnet decal and seats trimmed in tartan with '85th Anniversary' embroidery.

Matrix LED headlights, LED fog lamps and the 360-degree camera system come as standard on the special edition. The current model starts from £29,999, though UK pricing for the updated range has not yet been confirmed. Full details of the new range will be released closer to the summer order opening.
