They first worked together in 1998 when Goldsmith-Thomas was Lopez’s agent, and the first film they did together was the 2002 Revolution Studios hit Maid in Manhattan. Goldsmith-Thomas produced movies with Lopez including Hustlers, Shotgun Wedding, Kiss of the Spider Woman, The Mother and the upcoming Office Romance for Netflix. Lopez has the literary adaptation The Last Mrs.
Parrish, directed by Robert Zemeckis, coming up. Lopez just had a sold-out residency in Las Vegas. She scored her first No. 1 song on the Billboard charts with Save Me Tonight. Last year, Goldsmith-Thomas published a best-selling debut novel titled Climbing in Heels.
The book was quickly optioned by Darren Star via Universal Television, and Goldsmith-Thomas will write alongside Darren Star. Lopez supported the project by posting from a NYC reading.
