Jenny Mollen Deletes Caption Calling 12-Year-Old Son Her 'Most Toxic Boyfriend' After Backlash Over Bed Photos
The actress posted a Substack essay Monday responding to criticism of images showing her in bed with her 12-year-old son. She also addressed a caption that drew accusations of inappropriate behavior.
nypost.comJenny Mollen published a Substack post titled “The Love That Breaks Us” on Monday defending photographs she posted last month of herself in bed with her 12-year-old son Sid. ” The picture was taken on a Monday night after Sid returned from a weekend away. ” Mollen, 47, said she has been making some version of the joke for over a decade.
She described the relationship with her son in the post: “I’d never accept this kind of relationship under any other circumstances. ” “When I look at that picture, I see a 12-year-old boy who still wants his mother, and a woman trying to hold on to closeness and connection at a time in her life when everything else is changing,” Mollen wrote.
Mollen recounted that when she was 12, her mother told her she “didn’t know how to be a mom anymore” and has been absent since.
” “When my kids were young, I was so overwhelmed. There was so much they needed that it felt almost impossible to catch my breath,” Mollen stated. “I spent the last decade begging for five minutes alone, only to get exactly what I asked for.
And it has broken my heart. It will break your heart, too. ” The photos that prompted the recent criticism showed Mollen lying in bed between Sid’s legs, holding him with her hands on the back of his head.
She later deleted the caption from that post. Mollen and Jason Biggs share sons Sid, 12, and Lazlo, 8. Page Six confirmed the couple parted ways after 18 years of marriage in May. Over the weekend, the former spouses were seen linking arms while leaving a family dinner in New York City.
