Jeopardy Champion Jamie Ding Secures 30th Consecutive Win with $849,603 in Total Winnings

Jamie Ding won his 30th consecutive Jeopardy! game on the episode aired Thursday night, bringing his total winnings to $849,603. In that game, Ding earned $56,001, while Patrick Nolan placed second with $18,000 and Leighanna Mixter came in third with $10,400.

ABC reported that Ding now ranks No. 5 on the list of Jeopardy! players with the most consecutive wins. ' He added, 'We all played well, Patrick [Nolan], Leighanna [Mixter], me, and, I mean, we have two five-figure true Daily Doubles that paid off.

' During the interview, Ding revealed his approach to buzzing in quickly. 'They tell you to watch for the lights next to the board and then buzz in, but I buzz in based on the sound of [host Ken Jennings'] voice, try to time it that way,' he stated on Good Morning America. Ding expressed surprise at his achievement.

'Nobody goes in planning to win 30 games. Only a complete egomaniac would do that. I mean, I thought, like, I entertained the possibility. It's nice to dream big but that it's actually happened is, it's amazing.
