Jey Uso defeated LA Knight, Finn Balor and Royce Keys in a four-way match on the most recent episode of SmackDown to advance in the 2026 WWE King of the Ring tournament. He is scheduled to face Je’Von Evans in the semifinals, with the winner to meet the victor of Oba Femi versus Dominik Mysterio in the finals at Night of Champions on June 27.

Forbes reported that this marks at least the third time a video of a major Uso singles victory has drawn heavy negative reaction on the platform. Similar backlash occurred in March 2025 when Uso defeated Austin Theory in less than 30 seconds on Raw.
It happened again in fall 2025 after Uso won a battle royal on Raw that earned him a match against CM Punk for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship.
Uso won the World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Gunther at WrestleMania 41 in 2025. His reign lasted 51 days. He has one world title to his name. By December 2025, Uso had reunited with his brother Jimmy as a tag team.
He is now positioned again within The Bloodline storyline alongside Roman Reigns. Monday Night Raw recorded its lowest average viewership since debuting on Netflix in January 2025 during the most recent episode. Forbes reported that one possible explanation is fan fatigue over The Bloodline, Reigns and the Usos.
Jey Uso has publicly acknowledged receiving recent negative fan reactions. Forbes reported that while a significant portion of WWE’s fan base loves him, social media reactions and the drop in Raw viewership are prompting WWE to evaluate how strongly he will be pushed.
