A JL Partners survey of 1,002 public sector union members showed Reform UK and Labour each receiving 28 percent support. GB News reported the poll results on June 1, 2026. Labour support among union members has fallen 20 points since the 2024 general election.

Among Unite members, Reform UK led Labour by 36 percent to 30 percent. 4 million to Labour in 2024. Unite announced earlier in 2026 it would reduce its contributions to Labour by 40 percent.

Unite has held discussions with Reform UK officials in Birmingham regarding bin strikes. " Graham stated that Labour's decisions to cut the winter fuel allowance, slash benefits for the disabled, and aid a jobless transition for oil and gas workers had alienated workers amid a cost of living crisis. Nigel Farage said: "This polling tells me exactly what I have seen on the campaign trail.

Murray said union members care about increases to the minimum wage and workers' rights, both of which Reform opposed. Gary Smith, General Secretary of GMB, said: "Reform are no friends of workers. " Smith said Labour must show working-class people it can be on their side, citing last week's help for the ceramics industry.

He warned that ideologically driven energy policies that kill jobs without alternatives would alienate workers and lead to electoral disaster.
