John Turturro Jokes He Is Related to Knicks Guard Landry Shamet

John Turturro and New York Knicks guard Landry Shamet posted an Instagram video on or before June 24, 2026, in which Turturro states they are related. Shamet called the claim legitimate in the same video. Turturro, known for roles in The Big Lebowski and Do the Right Thing, is a celebrity Knicks fan.

The pair addressed long-running social media jokes about their resemblance, with Turturro saying the secret was out. Shamet, 29, signed a one-year veteran's minimum contract with the Knicks in the 2025 offseason. He averaged 9.3 points per game in 51 regular-season games while shooting 39.3 percent from three-point range.

In the 2026 playoffs, Shamet shot 47. He averaged 6.8 percent from three. Shamet will become an unrestricted free agent in July 2026.

The Knicks must also consider re-signing center Mitchell Robinson.
