Jonas Vingegaard won the 2026 Giro d'Italia on Sunday, finishing with a margin of five minutes and 33 seconds over second-place Felix Gall. The 29-year-old Danish rider from Team Visma-Lease a Bike became the eighth male cyclist to win all three Grand Tours after previously taking the Tour de France in 2022 and 2023 and the Vuelta a España in 2025.

The other riders who have completed the set are Jacques Anquetil, Felice Gimondi, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault, Alberto Contador, Vincenzo Nibali and Chris Froome.

The 21-stage race began with 184 riders. Vingegaard won five individual stages and collected 11,000 euros for each of those victories in addition to the overall prize of just under 116,000 euros. Milan, Dylan Groenewegen, Madis Mihkels, Jensen Plowright, Tobias Lund Andresen, Corbin Strong, Toon Aerts and Luca Mozzato also placed in the top ten of that stage. Paul Magnier won the cyclamino points jersey and received 10,000 euros. Giulio Ciccone claimed the blue king of the mountains jersey and 5,000 euros. Filippo Ganna won the stage 10 time trial in Massa.

Alberto Bettiol took stage 13 into Verbania. Igor Arrieta won stage 5 after crashing with Afonso Eulalio in torrential rain. Adam Yates abandoned the race on stage 2 after suffering a concussion in a crash in Bulgaria.

UAE Team Emirates-XRG won four stages, three of them by Jhonatan Narvaez. Vingegaard and Tadej Pogacar are both scheduled to compete in the 2026 Tour de France, which begins on 4 July.
