Jordan Chiles Enters Final NCAA Week After Big Ten Titles and Olympic Gold

Jordan Chiles, the 2024 Olympic gold medalist with the United States gymnastics team, is entering the final week of her NCAA career in April 2026. Turning 25 on Wednesday, April 16, Chiles has led UCLA to back-to-back Big Ten titles and earned multiple individual honors this season.

“Bringing home a national championship would mean everything. For me, it would have taken four years to get it. I mean, I'm already an individual NCAA champion, but now I'm at a point where it's all about the team. That trophy isn't just for me; it's for every single person that was able to come and be a part of what the Bruins are all about. And I think allowing us to love one another, allowing us to respect one another, being as united as we are, that's really what goes into that trophy." Chiles reflected on her growth since committing to UCLA in eighth grade, influenced by the presence of a Jamba Juice on campus, saying, > "My freshman self would be amazed by the transformation and growth. I wish she could know the amazing legacy she's going to leave and that she's going to enjoy every moment." Janelle McDonald, who took the UCLA gymnastics coaching job in spring 2022, has overseen the team's progress since an early exit in the 2022 NCAA regionals. McDonald is friends with Cecile Canqueteau-Landi, Chiles' club coach, who is now head coach at Georgia. As a freshman in the 2022-2023 season, Chiles scored three perfect 10.0s. The Bruins aim to build on their recent conference success as they pursue a national title in the upcoming semifinals.”
