The NAACP lawsuit alleges that xAI operated 27 methane gas turbines without the required permit. The Southern Environmental Law Center obtained emails showing that xAI increased the number of turbines at the site from 27 to 57 after the lawsuit was filed. Gas turbines emit pollution, hazardous chemicals, and fine particulate matter.
