The Kansas City Royals selected the contract of catcher Luke Maile on July 4, 2026, according to Forbes. The 35-year-old began the 2026 season in Triple-A Omaha and had not appeared in a major league game this year. Maile originally debuted in MLB with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2015.
He spent three seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays and has also played for the Milwaukee Brewers, Cleveland Guardians, Cincinnati Reds and Kansas City Royals across more than a decade and six organizations. 320 in 1,304 plate appearances. 989 fielding percentage.
