KBO Reaches 5 Million Fans in 275 Games, Slowest Pace in League History

The Korea Baseball Organization hit 5,041,891 total attendees after five games on June 3. The mark came 19 games sooner than the previous record set in 2025.

The Korea Baseball Organization reached 5,041,891 fans for the 2026 season after five games played on June 3, Yonhap reported. Those five contests drew a combined 105,441 spectators. The league passed the 5-million threshold in 275 games, 19 fewer than the prior record of 294 games set during the 2025 season.

The KBO also set every earlier million-fan mark this year in the fewest games on record. Four of the five June 3 games sold out. The Doosan Bears hosted the Hanwha Eagles before a capacity crowd of 23,750 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul.

The NC Dinos drew 24,000 fans at Daegu Samsung Lions Park for their game against the Samsung Lions. The Kia Tigers hosted the Lotte Giants before 20,500 spectators at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field. The KT Wiz and LG Twins played to 18,700 fans at KT Wiz Park in Suwon.

The only non-sellout was the Kiwoom Heroes versus the SSG Landers at Incheon SSG Landers Field, where 18,491 attended. Through 275 games, 165 have been sellouts. The LG Twins and Hanwha Eagles lead with 26 sellouts each, followed by the Samsung Lions with 23 and the Doosan Bears with 20.

All 10 teams have posted higher per-game averages than last season. 3 million fans in 2025 and is on pace to surpass that total. The league needed only 13 days to move from 4 million to 5 million attendees this year.
