The Kennedy Center is offering a $25,000 "Presidential" package for its July 4 fireworks celebration that includes 36 seats on the roof terrace and air-conditioned lounge access. The package lists $18,912 as a tax-deductible donation to the center. A $15,000 "Vice Presidential" option seats up to 24 guests with a $10,941 donation, while a $7,500 "Statesman" package and $600 "Red Pass" provide lower tiers of access.
General admission starts at $425 with a $256 donation, and children's tickets cost $125 without a tax deduction. All paid options include parking, food, and beverages.
The center had planned to close starting July 4 for a two-year, $250 million renovation. A federal judge blocked that closure and ordered the venue to stay open. The center stated that removing President Donald Trump's name from the building to follow the court order could affect "hundreds of millions" of pledged charitable contributions.
Several performances have been canceled after artists withdrew since the change in administration, reducing revenue opportunities.
