A Republican representative from Kentucky is facing a primary election on Tuesday against a challenger endorsed by the president. The incumbent has said out-of-state billionaires have contributed millions of dollars to the race. The representative appeared on a Sunday news program and stated that three billionaires from outside Kentucky have funneled millions of dollars into the contest.

He described the spending as an effort to buy a congressional seat.

The representative said the race has become the most expensive primary in congressional history because of the outside contributions. He stated that the money comes from major contributors to a pro-Israel group. The representative said the contest will serve as a referendum on foreign policy and whether outside groups can influence members of Congress.

He added that he has not been influenced by such groups.

The representative said he is ahead in polls and that his opponents are desperate. He stated that the president has been tweeting about the race. The representative said he has endorsements from right-to-life and gun organizations. He added that four members of Congress campaigned with him recently.

The representative also said he has received millions of dollars from grassroots donors through his website. He stated that donations are still coming in.
