hollywoodreporter.comKevin Bacon was attacked by a swarm of bees while hiking this week with his daughter and her partner. The 67-year-old actor recounted the incident in a video posted to his Instagram account on Thursday. In the video, Bacon described the sequence of events during the hike.
He said his daughter's partner was in front, his daughter was in the middle, and he was at the rear when the partner pointed out a beehive to the left. His daughter warned him to watch out for it. Bacon said he tried to keep his distance from the beehive.
The bees left the other two hikers alone but targeted him, stinging him in multiple places including underneath his shirt. He joked in the video that the bees must not have liked his work. Bacon noted that his daughter did not record the incident but later recreated his reaction from memory at his request.
The video then shows his daughter acting out the scene. She thrashes around, swats at imaginary bees with her hat, and pulls off her sweater while saying there are bees present. Bacon captioned the post describing the reenactment.
His wife commented on the video, writing that the performance was very accurate. The couple met on the set of a television movie in 1987 and married the following year. They have two adult children and are directing an upcoming comedy horror film in which the four of them will appear together as a family playing characters named the Smiths.
The film follows a family making a low-budget horror movie who discover a real dead body on set. Bacon told a reporter in March that the experience of working together exceeded his expectations.
