Truck traffic at the UAE’s Khorfakkan port has reached about 7,000 vehicles a day, according to Gulftainer Group CEO Farid Belbouab. Container volumes at the same facility have increased from roughly 3,000 per week to about 60,000. Belbouab said the changes reflect cargo being rerouted around the Strait of Hormuz amid the ongoing Middle East conflict.
