usmagazine.comKim Kardashian will executive produce an upcoming young adult drama series on Netflix titled Calabasas, Deadline reported Wednesday. The series is inspired by Via Bleidner’s book If You Lived Here You’d Be Famous By Now: True Stories From Calabasas.
It centers on an elite private school headmaster’s daughter’s forbidden romance. Kardashian grew up in the area and currently lives in Hidden Hills, California, the neighborhood bordering Calabasas. Showrunner Chris Van Dusen, who created the first two seasons of Bridgerton, is leading the project.
He described it as a glamorous, bold, addictive and emotionally-charged show that will be escapist, provocative and deeply personal all at once. Van Dusen praised Kardashian and the producing team, which also includes Emma Roberts, as smart, supportive and ambitious creative partners.
Kardashian and Roberts previously worked together on American Horror Story: Delicate.
The announcement comes as Kardashian has decided to skip the upcoming round of the California Bar Exam. A source said last week that her schedule is packed, including a new role producing The Fear of 13 on Broadway and heavy involvement in filming and production for several projects.
Kardashian passed the California baby bar on her fourth attempt in 2021. She failed the California Bar Exam in 2025 after four attempts. She skipped the February test and will skip the July sitting as well. The insider said Kardashian has no plan on giving up on her dreams.
