The appointment follows other royal roles for Sir Nicholas. King Charles named him Chair of Historic Royal Palaces in September 2023 for a three-year term.
He co-chaired the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee pageant in 2022 and chaired the V&A museum until 2023. He received a knighthood that year for contributions to museums, publishing, and the creative industries. He was installed as the 43rd Eton Provost in September 2024.
Prince George, aged 12, will begin secondary education at Eton College in September, the Prince and Princess of Wales confirmed earlier this month. " Sir Antony Seldon stated that Eton offers Prince George a setting to learn and form friendships away from public scrutiny.
