Knicks Coach Mike Brown Credits Popovich, Kerr for Bench Rotation Approach

New York Knicks head coach Mike Brown said he used a bench-rotation method he observed from San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich and Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr. Brown made the comments after the Knicks defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 121-108 on Saturday night. He stated that both coaches gave significant minutes to reserve players during the regular season.

"They were guys that went deep into their bench," Brown said. " Brown added that he had seen the approach succeed previously and chose to apply it with the Knicks. 6 minutes per game in the prior season, played 30.

Brown previously coached the Los Angeles Lakers to the Western Conference semifinals in 2012. The Knicks have not reached the NBA Finals since 1999.
