New York Knicks supporters are heading to Cleveland for Monday night's Eastern Conference finals game. Tickets at Rocket Arena cost far less than those at Madison Square Garden.
nypost.comKnicks fans from New York and New Jersey are traveling to Cleveland for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals at Rocket Arena on Monday night. Several supporters said lower ticket prices prompted the trip. One fan paid $220 for a seat at Game 3 in Cleveland, compared with more than $700 for similar seats at Madison Square Garden.
Ticket prices draw out-of-town supporters Kevin Grisales, a 37-year-old sanitation worker from Woodside, extended his stay after Game 3 to watch a possible sweep. He estimated Monday's ticket would cost around $200. Jose Agosta traveled from Harlem with his son Julian. He described Cleveland tickets as three or four times more affordable than Garden seats.
Fans mark expected series win A group from New Jersey arrived at the General Moses Cleaveland Statue carrying brooms. They swept the pavement and predicted a Knicks victory. One member joked about clearing obstacles and declared the series would end in four games.
“We are already going to end up in the Finals. That's inevitable.”
The Knicks have won the first three games of the series. A win Monday would give them the Eastern Conference title and a berth in the NBA Finals. The Knicks have not lost since April 23. Last season they were eliminated by the Indiana Pacers in the conference finals.
