Knicks second-round pick scores 16 points in summer league loss

Tyler Nickel, the Knicks' 47th overall pick in last month's draft, scored 16 points on 6-for-14 shooting in 30 minutes during a 70-49 summer league loss in Las Vegas. Nickel made six three-pointers on 10 attempts in an earlier game against another summer league opponent. He wore jersey number 55 after his preferred number 5 was unavailable.

Shooting profile Nickel said he sees himself as a mix of several NBA players known for catch-and-shoot roles. He mentioned size, strength, and shooting ability as his main attributes. The 6-foot-7 forward from Virginia acknowledged that defense is considered his weakness but said he committed to improving during minicamp.
