Charges included assault on a police officer, criminal possession of a gun, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and obstruction of governmental administration.
Four stabbings and one shooting occurred during post-game celebrations, according to police. Ten NYPD officers were injured, including one struck by a glass bottle. A 17-year-old boy was shot in the foot and transported to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
Five school buses used to transport World Cup soccer fans to MetLife Stadium were set on fire or otherwise destroyed. Videos showed destruction of school buses and personal vehicles. A trash fire occurred at the Heineken Riverdeck at Pier 17 during a Knicks watch party on Sunday, June 14, 2026.
