fastcompany.comSugar Foods LLC announced a voluntary recall of certain lots of Kroger Homestyle Cheese Garlic Croutons due to possible salmonella contamination. The recall covers 5-ounce pouches bearing UPC code 011110813534. Affected products were distributed to Kroger stores between March 7, 2026, and April 7, 2026.
The products reached stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and West Virginia. The recall is connected to an earlier voluntary recall of milk powder by California Dairies. Sugar Foods used the milk powder in a seasoning blend purchased from Solina USA.
Foods said the affected seasoning batches tested negative for salmonella prior to use. The company initiated the recall out of an abundance of caution based on the ingredient supplier's recall. No illnesses have been reported in connection with the crouton recall.
