KT Wiz Win Seven Straight, Move to Second in KBO Standings Behind Samsung Lions

The KT Wiz climbed to second place in the Korea Baseball Organization after winning seven consecutive games, Yonhap reported. The team improved to 51-35-1 and sits two games behind the first-place Samsung Lions, who hold a 53-33-2 record. KT Wiz had been in third place, 3 1/2 games behind the LG Twins, before the All-Star break.
They then swept the defending 2025 Korean Series champions in a four-game series and now trail only the Lions. The Wiz last held sole possession of first place on May 17. The Wiz open the week with a three-game series against the fifth-place Doosan Bears at KT Wiz Park in Suwon.
The Bears enter the series with three straight wins and a 47-42-2 record. KT Wiz will then travel to Busan for three games against the eighth-place Lotte Giants. The LG Twins, now on a season-worst five-game losing streak, will face the seventh-place NC Dinos and sixth-place Hanwha Eagles.
Both the Dinos and Eagles have lost three consecutive games. The Hanwha Eagles placed their top slugger Kang Baek-ho on the injured list Monday with a left oblique injury. 315. The Eagles said they will reevaluate him later with no return timeline set.
