Kylie Minogue has revealed that she received a second cancer diagnosis in early 2021. The announcement came in a new Netflix documentary titled Kylie, which became available on the current date. The singer said she kept the diagnosis private at the time. She stated that she was able to manage the information differently than during her first diagnosis and treatment in 2005.

Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2005 at age 36. She canceled the remainder of a tour and withdrew from a scheduled performance at the Glastonbury festival to receive treatment in Melbourne. After completing treatment, she was given an all-clear. In 2008 she stated that an initial medical assessment had indicated no cause for concern.

Minogue returned to recording with the 2007 album X.

She performed at Glastonbury in 2019 and later released the single Padam Padam, which reached the UK top 10 and earned a Grammy award. In 2025 she achieved a Christmas number-one single with the song Xmas. The accompanying album also topped the charts.

The three-part documentary includes interviews with family members and former musical collaborators. Minogue said she chose to share the 2021 diagnosis to encourage others to schedule routine medical check-ups.
