Lakers Hire Rohan Ramadas as Assistant General Manager
The Los Angeles Lakers hired Rohan Ramadas as an assistant general manager. Ramadas previously served as vice president of strategy and operations for the New Orleans Pelicans.
nypost.comThe Los Angeles Lakers hired Rohan Ramadas as an assistant general manager under president and GM Rob Pelinka, ESPN reported on Monday. Ramadas will focus on strategy, cap management, analytics and data. He previously worked as vice president of strategy and operations for the New Orleans Pelicans.
After graduating from the University of Southern California, Ramadas spent more than a decade at the Aerospace Corporation. A Pelicans source described him as a literal rocket scientist. While with the Pelicans, Ramadas implemented AI and coded models to support front-office decisions.
Pelinka said the Lakers also plan to hire another assistant GM to oversee player draft and evaluation processes, including pro scouting, draft scouting and player development. The team finished the regular season with 50 wins for the second straight year.
Pelinka said the organization will use the summer to integrate resources from new owner Mark Walter and strengthen ties with the Los Angeles Dodgers, which Walter also owns.
