Laura Dern and Children Join Bruce Dern at Cannes Film Festival

Laura Dern and her children joined her father, Bruce Dern, for a red carpet appearance at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday. The group attended the premiere of "Dernsie," a documentary about Bruce Dern's acting career and personal life. Bruce Dern wore a black tuxedo, bowtie, and Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap while posing with his daughter and grandchildren.

Laura Dern, 59, wore a silver gown with a sheer overlay. Her daughter Jaya appeared in a striped black-and-white dress, and her son Ellery wore a black tuxedo with a skinny tie.

Dern has been married three times.

His first marriage to Marie Dawn Pierce lasted from 1957 to 1959. He was married to actress Diane Ladd from 1960 to 1969. Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd had two children. Their daughter Diane Elizabeth died in 1962 at age 18 months in a drowning accident. Laura Dern was born five years later. The couple has remained together since then. Diane Ladd died in November 2025 at age 89.

Dern shares her children with her former husband, singer Ben Harper. The couple married in 2005 and divorced in 2013. " He stated that the loss affected his relationship with Diane Ladd.
