Lawsuit Claims Anthropic’s Claude Max Plans Deliver Less Usage Than Advertised

BenzingaC. resident filed a proposed class-action lawsuit against Anthropic, alleging that the company’s Claude Max subscription tiers provide fewer queries than the limits advertised on its website and marketing materials. Plaintiff Karl Kahn claims the effective caps on the Max 5x and Max 20x plans fall short of the usage amounts Anthropic markets to customers.
U.S. subscribers who purchased the same plans. Anthropic sells three paid plans for individuals, including Claude Pro starting at $17 per month. The lawsuit targets the higher-tier Max options that promise larger usage allowances.
Anthropic declined to comment on the case, a spokesperson told Benzinga via email. The lawsuit was reported by Engadget and the Wall Street Journal.
