Leading the Future Super PAC Ends Quarter With $31.5 Million After Transfers and Primary Loss for Backed Candidate

Leading the Future, a super PAC backed by tech executives and investors, ended the second quarter with $31.5 million in cash after moving $20 million to affiliated groups, Axios reported. The organization disbursed $10 million each to Think Big PAC and American Mission PAC. Public First PAC, tied to the AI safety nonprofit Public First Action, finished the quarter with about $494,000 on hand.

It raised roughly $3.4 million during the period, including a $1 million donation from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei and more than $2 million combined from employees at Anthropic, Google and OpenAI. The super PAC then transferred $3.3 million to its affiliate, Jobs and Democracy PAC. Jobs and Democracy PAC closed the quarter with about $1.3 million in cash.

It also received nearly $10 million from Public First Action during the reporting period and spent heavily supporting New York candidate Alex Bores, who lost the Democratic primary to Micah Lasher. Defending Our Values PAC reported nearly $315,000 on hand. Guardrails Alliance, a newly launched group that backs robust AI safety rules and workers' rights, held nearly $400,000.

Jesse Hunt, spokesperson for Leading the Future, stated that the group's resources will allow it to continue building a deep bench of pro-innovation champions.
