Lebanese Health Ministry Reports 4,303 Killed in Israeli Attacks Since March 2

The Lebanese Health Ministry reported that Israeli attacks since March 2 have killed 4,303 people and wounded 12,202 others. The ministry issued the updated figures as Israel continues strikes on what it describes as Hezbollah positions inside Lebanon. The operations persist after the signing of a U.S.-sponsored framework agreement last week.

Iran conducted farewell ceremonies in Tehran for its late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and family members killed on February 28 during U.S.-Israeli strikes. Iran's Foreign Ministry stated the country will seek justice against the U.S. and Israel and described attendance by regional delegations as evidence of Khamenei's stature.

Iranian media reported that the new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is not expected to attend the multi-day ceremonies.

Pakistan's prime minister praised Khamenei's leadership during a joint media appearance with Turkish officials in Istanbul. Turkish officials warned that Israel is attempting to undermine a recent memorandum of understanding between Iran and the U.S. and said Turkey stands ready to support regional peace efforts.

Lebanon's president urged the U.S. to continue supporting Lebanon following the framework agreement that calls for Hezbollah disarmament. Hezbollah has rejected the agreement and refused to surrender its weapons. A researcher at the Center for Strategic Studies in Tehran stated that the new supreme leader favors a more assertive foreign policy and views control of the Strait of Hormuz as a priority.
