LeBron James Free Agency Enters Second Week With Team Voice Pitches

LeBron James' free agency decision has stretched into its second week as of July 9, 2026. Several teams have sent voice notes through his agent to outline their plans. Rich Paul, James' agent and CEO of Klutch Sports, arranged for team executives to record the messages.

Bob Myers, president of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, which owns the Philadelphia 76ers, appeared on the "Game Over" show with Paul and Max Kellerman on July 8 to discuss the team's case. A few other teams have also recorded voice memos from owners, presidents or general managers.

It remains unclear whether the Cleveland Cavaliers or Miami Heat participated, as James previously played for both franchises.

James, 41, has spent recent weeks on vacation with family and friends and on the golf course. Sources told ESPN that he continues to review information from all interested teams, with one source stating there is "no timetable" for his choice. Paul previously told ESPN that salary would not determine the outcome, allowing teams to complete other roster moves without waiting on James' decision.
