LeBron James completed his fourth public appearance at Fanatics Fest on Friday without disclosing his free agency plans. The event took place at the Javits Center in New York. James joined a live taping of his show "The Shop" that featured guests Novak Djokovic and Folarin Balogun.
He and Maverick Carter passed hosting duties to Travis Bennett and Steelo Brim. " Bennett responded that "the whole world is waiting on this. " NBA Commissioner Adam Silver had said the previous day at the same event that James' choice would affect the league schedule.
"Where LeBron plays will affect the schedule," Silver stated. " James described his criteria for a new team. "Most important is I want to compete," he said. "I want to compete at a high level. " He added that he has used the phrase since his 2003 draft.
"There's been eight straight years of different champions," James said. '" Multiple sources familiar with James' thinking told ESPN that he is close to a decision, with many league and team personnel hoping for an announcement next week.
