Left-hander assigned outright to Triple-A after clearing waivers

A left-handed pitcher was assigned outright to Triple-A Iowa after clearing waivers, according to the MLB.com transaction log. The player had been designated for assignment and went unclaimed. He has not previously been outrighted and lacks three years of major league service, so he cannot reject the assignment.

The 25-year-old has appeared in 37 major league games, all with one organization between 2024 and 2025. He posted a 0.73 ERA over 12 1/3 innings in 2024 before allowing 20 runs in 19 innings in 2025. Overall, he has recorded a 6.03 ERA with a 20 percent strikeout rate and 15.3 percent walk rate across 31 1/3 major league innings.

The pitcher moved through multiple organizations via designations for assignment earlier this season. In Triple-A this year, he has posted an 8.74 ERA over 22 2/3 innings while walking 24.8 percent of batters faced. He will now report to the Triple-A affiliate in Des Moines. Teams passed on claiming him after he walked 16 of 72 batters faced in recent appearances.
