Leigh Leopards Defeat Warrington Wolves 24-6 at Magic Weekend

Leigh Leopards defeated Warrington Wolves 24-6 on July 4 at Hill Dickinson Stadium in the opening match of Magic Weekend. Four tries and four successful conversions produced the final margin. Tries came from Tesi Niu, David Armstrong, Edwin Ipape and Umyla Hanley. Adam Cook converted each score.

Leigh opened the scoring in the fifth minute when Niu crossed after a left-side move. Cook added the conversion and a penalty goal after a Warrington error. Armstrong scored next following an offload from Hanley, extending the lead to 12 points. Cook kicked another goal from a penalty before halftime.

Ipape added a third try early in the second half after Leigh recovered a misplaced kick. Hanley scored the fourth try with just over 20 minutes remaining. Warrington scored a late consolation try through Marc Sneyd, converted by Ewan Irwin.

Warrington played without 10 players due to injury, including captain George Williams. The loss leaves the club second in the standings but at risk of dropping to third depending on later results. Leigh improved to eighth place after 10 wins in its last 10 games.
