Leo Express to Launch Once-Daily 1,300 km Train Service Between Przemyśl and Frankfurt Starting 25 June
Leo Express will operate one daily service each way between Przemyśl and Frankfurt Airport starting 25 June. The route passes through Kraków, Ostrava, Prague, Dresden, Leipzig and Erfurt.
EuronewsLeo Express will begin a daily long-distance train service on 25 June that runs more than 1,300 kilometres between the Polish city of Przemyśl on the Ukrainian border and Frankfurt am Main and Frankfurt Airport. The west-bound train departs Przemyśl at 1:31 pm and reaches Frankfurt Airport the following morning at 7:53 am.
The east-bound service leaves Frankfurt Airport at 8:27 am and arrives in Przemyśl at 02:23 am the next day.
Seats are already on sale with fares starting at €10 between the route’s endpoints. The single daily service in each direction will stop at Kraków, Ostrava, Prague, Dresden, Leipzig and Erfurt. Peter Köhler, CEO of Leo Express, said the schedule supports onward travel.
“Leo Express offers a connection with an excellent arrival time at 7:53 am at Frankfurt Airport, providing seamless transfers to European and intercontinental flights,” he said. “The return connection at 8:27 am also enables a daily connection to Prague with later arrivals in Kraków and Przemyśl.
At the same time, the train provides a direct connection between Prague, Dresden, Leipzig, Erfurt and Frankfurt,” Köhler added.
Köhler also said the route removes barriers between Western and Eastern Europe. “With this new route, we are also removing the iron curtains between Western and Eastern Europe, connecting important European centres and providing access to Ukraine,” he said. Passengers will have access to wifi, power outlets, refreshments and air conditioning throughout the journey.
Leo Express is a Prague-based private international train and bus operator.
